After many years following local news weatherman and being mislead on forecasts, I have decided to predict on my own. Making a living working outdoors on Long Island requires an accurate forecast for our day-to-day operations. I have been reading online and following forums for several years, teaching myself to read and understand weather maps and models. Although I have alot to learn, my predictions have been pretty spot- on for the past few years. I hope my blogs keep you prepared.-Doppler Dan

Gusty northwest winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 to 45 mph can be expected this evening. These strong winds will gradually diminish overnight.
